Windows 10: recycle bin on E:\ is corrupted

Discus and support recycle bin on E:\ is corrupted in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; i get this message pop on startup sometimes with the option to empty it, if i click yes it just hangs and i need to restart, ive looked on my E drive...     recycle bin on E:\ is corrupted


    i get this message pop on startup sometimes with the option to empty it, if i click yes it just hangs and i need to restart, ive looked on my E drive and cant find a recycle bin

    To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
    • Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
    • Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

    Corrupted recycle bin on MyBook

    Hello,
    Helping my brother remotely. He gets the "The Recycle Bin on E:\ is corrupted. Do you want to empty the Recycle Bin for this Drive?"

    I remoted in, launched a CMD prompt as admin, and typed, rd /s /q G:\$Recycle.bin - then ran chkdsk E: /f - but after restarting, he says the error is back.

    Again I remoted in, launched a CMD prompt as admin, and typed, sfc /scannow - which reported no errors.

    Any thoughts about useful next steps - I'd sure be grateful for your wisdom and thoughts.
