Windows 10: Recycling HP laptop, wiped all data then removed hard drive. Now what?

9 year old laptop needs to be disposed of safely so I have wiped everything I could using Windows 10 >Update>/Security>Recovery Menu>Reset PC. After 6 + hours it was done, although not 100% confident data will be totally unrecoverable by doing that?Being overly security conscious I have removed the hard drive before I take the laptop into our local recycling tech center. I have read all sorts of suggestions but would appreciate advice as to what the best option is to ensure nothing on the drive could still be recovered. Thanks

HP Laptop Windows XP Data Wipe

I have an ancient HP Pavillion laptop that runs XP and I want to either donate or recycle it. I want to wipe the disks of all data before I get rid of it. Cannot find instructions that work. Any help is appreciated!

 

Hard Drive Data Recovery

got a laptop pata hard drive that makes a slight constant clicking noise. hard drive is more than likely dead/dying right... i can see that partitions of the hard drive in disk management and i can see the partitions in my computer but i can't get to any of the data.

any suggestions?
