Windows 10: Red dot on taskbar icon not showing on one app only

Hi,The red dot showing number of messages has stopped working for my Slack app on the taskbar. It still works fine for my Teams app, so I thought the problem had to be with Slack. But I feel I've tried everything within the app now except a reinstall, and all the other notifications work I get a pop-up preview, and the app on the taskbar flashes light pink, and the notification dot is there inside the app itself, just not on the taskbar. So now I'm thinking it might be a Windows issue after all. I have checked that "Show badges on taskbar" is on. I have installed all new updates and restar

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Windows APPS ICON NOT SHOWING PROPERLY on taskbar


It's been couple of days since I upgraded my system to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Everything is working fine except this nasty error. If I pin apps to taskbar or run apps , the app icons on the taskbar are shown as white square. And I am seeing the same thing on Apps & Feature settings list. The icons are there but as the backgrounds are shown as grey-white chequered pattern (for the transparency ), it looks like white squares. Rebuilt the icon cache but to no avail.



And on the start menu everything looks fine.

To address your concern, follow the steps below on how to show hidden icons on the taskbar.

• Open Settings, and click on the Personalization
  icon.
• Click on Taskbar on the left side, and click on the
  Select which icons appear on the taskbar link under the Notification area section on the right.
• Turn on Always show all icons in the notification area at the top
