Windows 10: Red Screen at Startup

Most days at startup from sleep mode I get a series of colored screens. Always same colors of red/green/blue/yellow and white. No messages, no warning codes, etc. Turn off the computer and reboot and all is good. I have a desktop HP with the computer and monitor all built in. Have the latest Windows operating system. This has gone on for months. Usually at open in the morning and sometimes again during the day if been "asleep" for a few hours. Tried talking to both HP and Microsoft cust serv techs. They have tried options but still have the issue.


Anyone else having this type of issue where you get the screens of death but no issue at all with your computer or operating system?

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

 

Red screen with grey stipes on startup of Widows 10. I am not able to get to the Widows startup screen.

After a recent update to Windows 10 (July 22, 2016), I have a red screen with grey stipes on startup. I am not able to get to the Widows startup screen. None of the suggestions I have read online work because I am not able to start in safe mode, access
the control panel or enter in my WIndows password.

To better assist you, do let us know if you made any changes to the system prior to the issue.

In order to identify if this is a graphics card driver related issue, I suggest you to boot the computer in safe mode and uninstall the driver. Upon restart the computer will automatically install the latest available driver. Follow the steps given below:

  On a working PC, go to the
  Microsoft software download website.
  
• 
  Download the media creation tool and then run it.
  
• 
  Select Create installation media for another PC.
  
• 
  Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
  
• 
  Follow the steps to create installation media, and then select Finish.
  
• 
  Connect the installation media you created to your nonfunctional PC, and then turn it on.
  
• 
  On the initial setup screen, enter your language and other preferences, and then select
  Next. If you're not seeing the setup screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to change your PC's boot order, and then try again.
  
• 
  Select Repair your computer.
  
• On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot >
  Advanced options > Startup Settings, and Restart. When it restarts, you should see a number of options. Press 5 or F5 for
  Safe Mode with networking.

Once the computer boots up in safe mode, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R.

2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

3. Expand display adapter.

4. Right click on the driver and check for updated driver.

5. If there are no available drivers, uninstall the driver and restart the computer.
