Windows 10: Redeem old Windows DVD Player license for Windows 10

Hi. After some time I came back to using DVD for playing legally purchased movies. On one PC (the one I write from) there was a free upgrade from Windows 7 Pro, so DVD films playing worked, as DVD player was part of the upgrade. Then the system was updated to Insider Previews and DVD player is not there anymore somehow.


On second computer, a laptop, Windows 8 was installed, there was DVD player program, I got a free upgrade to Windows 10 on time, DVD film playing worked, then DVD hardware got broken, meanwhile three disks were killed by Windows 10 in a subtle way - they are healthy, however, they are not bootable anymore. I can read both disks.


I now use USB DVD player, I have Microsoft account and Work account, but on the private, there is no data on DVD player purchase, as it was an upgrade option. CAN I GET SOME SORT OF ACTIVATION CODE FOR DVD PLAYER from the Store with my old licenses being updates? When I talked to Microsoft support they could not understand my claim, or advice me to purchase it for 15€. I can dig in the hard drives for some information for a proof for that, code etc.

Watching DVD Movies on Windows 10 (or not)

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
