Windows 10: Reduce Size of Drive

To,Microsoft CommunityDear Friend Hey, this is Gavin Mathos here & using Windows 11, 23H2 OS. Currently I have 4 Drivers I.e. C, D, F & G { As attached Screenshot}. Currently My F Drive has more Space, hence want to keep 100 GB Space in it & rest Space want to merge with C Drive. How can I do that. Can you calculate on how much F Drive Space in MB I need to Shrink for C Drive so that I can increase the Space. Please check & let me know the above Information. ** My Drives **

Reduce disk size (Inspect SCSI )

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

The answer is you have to reduce the size on BOTH sides.

Step 1) Within you virtual machine you need to go to Disk Management and reduce the size of the partition(s) on the drive you want to reduce - you want to end up with space left at the "end" of the virtual disk. This is the space you'll be able to recover.

Step 2) From your Hyper-V host you need to edit the virtual disk and use the Shrink option to reduce the size of the physical disk (as far as your VM is concerned it's a physical disk), and that would reduce the size of your virtual disk file on the host.

If you are increasing the size of the virtual disk then you do it the other way round - increase the size of the virtual disk on Hyper-V, then go to Disk Management inside your virtual machine and you'll find there's more space available to expand your virtual
volume.

How do I reduce the text size on the desktop

Reduce Font Size

If the issue is just with dropbox you may want to contact dropbox support for the exact instructions to reduce the said font size here : Dropbox - Contact Dropbox support

If the issue is with all third party and windows apps try reducing the font size via settings/ease of access/display (You will see a slider to reduce font size)

Failing the above step and if the whole UI is large you can reduce the scaling to the recommended value from the "make everything bigger" selection under the above mentioned text size slider.
