    REDUX: Why won't startups startup?


    This is a revisit of the issue at: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/why-wont-startupsstart-up/fe16852b-66be-490a-8cb9-6eedcb0ecdc8, which was never solved. It seems to be an ongoing issue with a lot of Windows users, going back to Windows 8. Basically, apps and shortcuts I place in the Startup folder on the desktop, no longer startup. I say "no longer", because there was a time when they all did. Probably about a year ago, they discontinued starting up when Windows started. This issue effects both of my Win 10 machines. I have not experienced it on my new Win 1

    Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

    I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

    Adding programs to startup with Windows 7?

    You could add entries to the registry to launch the apps on startup, but it's easier to just add them to the startup foler as Newt suggested.
