Windows 10: Refers to my laptop. Forgot my password and it won't let me reset without a removable device

Refers to my laptop, I can't remember my password so can't open it up. When trying to reset password message states I need removable flash drive. Any ideas??

Forgot the Password and unable to reset it.

Thank you for response.
The first step is not working on my laptop. And I do not want to reinstall the Window again as I have set and customized the window setting for me. Please suggest me another way to reset or remove password and PIN and to remove the administer account.

As per the info, I would like to inform that if you forgot your Microsoft account password,

follow these steps.

[*]If you don’t have a Microsoft account and forgot your local account password,
you can’t recover it. Instead, you’ll need to reset your PC.
[*]Warning: Following these steps will remove all of your data, programs, and settings.

• Start your PC and select the Power icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the lock screen.
• While holding down the Shift key, select Restart.
• On the Boot options menu, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything.
• Your PC will restart and will reset itself
