  1. Reformat old drive after moving OS to new one without loss of new one

Hello,I have transfered my Windows 10 OS from an HDD to SSD. Probably worth mentioning that I used minitool shadowmaker backup and recovery to do this. The system works just fine when I unplug the old drive, system boots from new SSD. Issue is when I insert old HDD, then it boots from HDD even though booting to SSD from UEFI.I want to use the old HDD as a secondary normal data drive without OS and boot from SSD. So I'v have tried reformating the old drive in bootable media using first GParted and then Minitool Partition Wizard WinPE. But in both cases it somehow ruined the SSD system too e

  2. New computer - how to move OS to new (larger) drive?

    Hi all,

    • I got a new computer a few days ago.
    • Its startup drive is a 250gb SSD and it has a 1TB standard drive. It has Windows 10 and is working fine...
    • However, I have a 1TB SSD I'd rather use as my primary drive. It's from my old computer and has Windows 10 installed.
Is it possible to "move" or reinstall the current OS on my 1TB SSD and use that as the startup drive?

Regarding methods, I've seen a lot of different info all over the place, so thought it might be a better idea to ask here...

    thanks

    Andrew

    Moving OS to New Drive

Hey everyone. I know this has been answered plenty of time but I need some help on this. I want to move my W10 Pro OS from my M.2 hard drive to a new SSD. I'd like to move the whole drive to a new drive though so nothing will break. I have some programs
installed on it including several other things but everything downloaded and documents are all on my second drive. Is this possible?? Can someone help me out please Reformat old drive after moving OS to new one without loss of new one :).

Or is it possible just to start over on a whole new drive with a clean OS with W10 Pro, unless something gets screwed up by a productkey .

Reformat old drive after moving OS to new one without loss of new one

Old Hard drive to new hard drive

I now have my old hard drive converted to an external drive and am wondering what is the best way to move files from the old to the new. I was thinking of booting the old drive and saving the files I want to the cloud and then downloading them to my new
computer. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
