    Hi,


    I have a HP 15-ae103na that came with Windows 7, it is quite high spec but the laptop now takes 5+minutes to turn on and be ready to browse/open apps etc. I have run scans, have all the latest windows updates etc. So I was thinking of doing a Windows Refresh keeping all files and software - is this possible as the recover section is probably still Windows 7??


    Once I have done this I'm clone the current drive to a SSD one, to help improve bootup times, but first wanted to try a Windows Refresh.


    Can I do a Windows Refresh on a Windows 10 laptop that was a Windows 7 laptop?

    Worth upgrading to Windows 10 with my laptop?

    Since it's a laptop I would just stick with Windows 8.1 and when it's time to buy a new laptop then Windows 10. My gaming laptop that I travel with has Windows 7 and it's fine. When I buy a new laptop in a couple of years Win 10 will be nice.

    Yeah I was thinking the same thing, by then all laptops have Windows 10 or other new OS when I buy a new laptop.
    Everything runs fine now and I prefer not to re-install all my games and software.
