Windows 10: ReFS drive showing up as RAW after crash, but shows as ReFS on another PC

It seems very few people I've encountered have had this problem. I recently was attempting to retire my old hard drives and purchased two 10TB IronWolf Drives. I am running Windows 10. I did have some problems formatting the drives at first, it kept giving an error and not completing for both drives. They were brand-new drives from Newegg. I was on the verge of returning them when they suddenly worked. I created a mirrored 10 TB hard drive and formatted it as ReFS and moved all my data from two 4 TB drives onto the new mirrored drive. It was running fine until one day the computer froze and I had to hard reset the PC. After rebooting, the mirrored drive was gone. When I checked Disk Manager, it said it was syncing. This took about 2-3 days to get 100%. But then the drives simply showed as RAW. I tried restarting and disconnecting one of the drives. It still showed as raw.

Worried about the files, I took ONE of the mirrored drives to another PC and selected "Import Foreign Drives." I did this for both drives individually and both drives worked and all the files were there.

I realize it could be a slew of issues. My copy of Windows was having issues and explorer was frequently crashing before this. It could also have been the drives having been on sale at Newegg (it was a buy-2-deal) and perhaps they were faulty and therefore would not format.

But I did also hear that after a Windows Update some ReFS drives were showing up as RAW. I'm wondering if there is a fix for this which there obviously should be if the drive works in another PC, but not the one that created it.

ReFS drive unaccessible after update

Hi everyone,

After last Enterprise Insider update that got me to build 17074.1000, my ReFS formatted drive (no replication, just a partition used like any other) got totally inaccessible.

Cannot access drive F:

The parameter is incorrect.

I've given up and tried to recover the data with ReclaiMe, but now it is marked as RAW instead of ReFS. What can I do to get the data back? And no more ReFS for me.

 

ref-work

Ref -work is a 32 bit and window is 64 bit and what I understand is that I must uninstall my ref-work and reinstall the 64 bit ref-work. I have data in the ref work 32 bit. Will the data be saved and then transferred to the 64 bit ref-work?
