    A virtual hard disk attached to a VM Windows Server 2022 and formatted with ReFS becomes unreadable inside this VM, after it is mounted to the HyperV host Windows 11 and files have been written to.To re-create the issue:Test system: Windows 11 host with Hyper-V; Windows Server 2022 virtual machine1. Create a hard disk for a VM Windows Server 2022 in Hyper-V manager2. Initialize and format this HD with ReFS from inside the VM3. Copy some files to this virtual disk inside the VM optional4. Detach the VHDX from the VM in Hyper-V manager5. Mount the VHDX in the Hyper-V host Windows 116.

    Vhdx drives inside refs storage pool

    Trying to find out if this is good practice and if I will retain the benefits of having a mirrored refs storage space pool. I wish to have a mirrored pool using 4 physical drives formatted with refs. This will be over provisioned for future expansion.
    I want to have 2 vhdx drives inside of this pool. These will also be over provisioned. Will saving everything to my vhdx which is formatted ntfs be fine inside of my refs pool. I have tested this out with many file writes and benchmarks but its all short term
    and i cant simulate corrupted data on one drive.

    ESXi 4.0 and Ubuntu LTS VM Raw Drive Mapping/Software Raid

    you will be able to map those drives to an ubuntu system. from there when you setup your VM software just reference that mount point. i suggest using command line to mount those drives, not the GUI. i am pretty sure there is open source software for software based raid 5 but i have never set that up before. look into cloud software which is what you want to do essentially.
