Windows 10: Regarding activation of windows in my dell.

I purchased a Dell inspiron in 2018, I have the following questions regarding activation of windows.

1 It's showing "Windows is activated with digital license linked to your Microsoft account", does this mean if I install windows on any system and log in with that Microsoft account then windows will get activated or, is it only for that particular device. PS: I did not purchase windows, it came with my laptop.

2 If I remove windows, install ubuntu and after a few months install windows again in the same laptop will it get activated again.

Dell Quickset in Windows 10 does not appear to disable the keyboard and touchpad in tablet mode

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to un-install and re-install Quickset and see if that makes any difference:

I suggest you to follow these steps:

• Press Windows + R keys
• Type appwiz.cpl
• Choose Quickset and click on un-install.

Re-install from Dell's website and see if that helps.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I suggest you to activate the copy of Windows 10 via phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select your Region/Country.
• Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
