  1. Regarding restriction on app installations from microsoft store and from 3rd party

    Hi,

I want to ask question related to app/software installations. I've set up family control on PC. I don't want to allow my child to install any application without my permission. Is there any way through which my child always need permission to install any application from any source and i can grant it remotely. I don't want to block Microsoft store fully. I also don't want to set administration password on app installations form 3rd party because it can't be managed remotely. Plz tell me a way through which i can have remote control on every installations from any source. If there's no feature like this then please add this in your next updates.

    :)

Windows Mail and 3rd party messages

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Please assist me with the following information related to this issue:

    • May I know what exactly do you mean when you say "download messages from 3rd party into Windows Mail"?
    • Are you referring to Mail app on Windows 10? If so, are you able to receive any send email via Mail app?

If you are facing issues with Mail app, I suggest
run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X..

    • Click on Control Panel.

    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • On the left pane, click on View All.

    • Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.
Let us know if the issue is resolved or if you require further assistance.

Default mail apps restricted to Microsoft Store?

I can't answer for that particular case, as Thunderbird is assigned.

In the case of an unassigned extension, then if you scroll down to the bottom of the list you get:

If you rt click a .eml file what options do you see in Open With, and what icon does it display? (You can create a dummy one on your desktop for example- create a new txt file and replace the extension with eml)

** I've just noticed the hint in the error message: mailto - see this and set it appropriately:
