Windows 10: RegEdit closes automatically when Exporting

Discus and support RegEdit closes automatically when Exporting in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I am on Windows 23H2 and whenever I try to export any key using registry editor the dialog box for file save shows up for a millisecond before regedit...     RegEdit closes automatically when Exporting


    I am on Windows 23H2 and whenever I try to export any key using registry editor the dialog box for file save shows up for a millisecond before regedit closes without giving any error message.I have run sfc/scannow and updated windows too.What could be wrong? any help is appreciated.

    Regedit freezes on export


    In Windows 10 regedit freezes when trying to export a registry key. To fix this, open the print dialog (ctrl+p) first, then close it and you can export registry keys. No idea why this is the case but it works.

    Whenever I try to export a registry key from regedit, when I click file->export it freezes. This only occurs in Windows 10, did Microsoft accidentally break regedit or something?

    RegEdit closes automatically when Exporting

    Export with Regedit - Fails for hkey_local_machine

    Mine does the same thing with "save as hive". Personally I don't see the reason to "save as hive". Just save as reg and name the save properly, like HKLM or something.
