    [Regedit] Does Scancode Map in HKLM affect the keyboard layout on the lock screen?


    Earlier this morning I made a .reg file that binds every alphabetical character on the keyboard to the letter h. The Scancode Map value is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Keyboard Layout.

    I’m worried that this may prevent users from logging in to their computers if their username or password contains alphabetical characters.

    WINDOWS LOGO KEY ON KEYBOARD IS NOT WORKING

    Please follow this steps:

    Open the regedit and go to the path

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

    If you have a dword record named "Scancode Map", please delete and restart your computer.

    hello, there's a way to map one key to another via Regedit -> Scancode Map

    but I want to map 2 buttons (ctrl+shift) to use capslock as a keyboard layout switch

    I know that I can bind or disable many buttons with one string, but what happens if those 2 buttons will be assigned to 1?

    Dear Kapil,

    I followed Your directions, but when I got into the Registry Editor and highlighted Keyboard Layout there was no Scancode Map listed on the right side. Only the ab(Default).
