Windows 10: Registered new laptop to invalid email, now completely locked out

My wife entered an invalid email address when setting up a new laptop. Now it has locked her out saying password invalid, and the password recovery is emailing to an invalid account. We cannot find a way around this. This is the main admin account, and we are unable to add new users to the system. So we are completely locked out of the laptop altogether. Any ideas on how to resolve??

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Invalid email

I have had several important emails needed to be registered from different websites. And informed my outlook address was invalid. Why would a perfectly good email address be invalid anywhere. Thank you in advance.
