Windows 10: Reinstall windows on my laptop

This was a week ago so my information might be wrong, but I was updating my windows when it said there was an error (windows update error 0x80070002) so I looked it up on the internet and it said to delete or rename a folder called "SoftwareDistribution." I tried that but it didn't allow me to delete or even rename so I used cmd to change the name to "softwaredistribution.old" and that seemed to work, and I got it to update, or so I thought. Fast forward to yesterday, I got a prompt telling me to update again the same build so I did and it didn't get any errors like last time, but when I restarted my laptop it just went on a restart loop, saying "updating 35%" to "couldn't complete the update undoing changes" and here I am now, I tried force restarting it 3 times so I could boot into desktop and I deleted both "SoftwareDistribution" and "softwaredistribution.old" files because I suspect that was the issue, but to no avail. I also tried reparing using troubleshoot but it said there was no problem, and I also tried opening a restore point but it said there was no changes so I decided just doing a reinstall of windows through local download (for some reason cloud didn't work) but it's still on 1% and its been almost 2 hours. What should I do and what did I do wrong?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
