Windows 10: Reinstalled Windows 11 Pro/unable to complete setup as I no longer have work account

Hello, I was recently laid off from my corporate job and was allowed to keep my work computer. I am trying to reinstall Windows 11 Pro however when setting up windows, I can’t get past the “let’s set things up for your work or school” page as I no longer have an active sign in with my company. How can I get around this screen as it won’t allow me to use my personal email? Is there a way to downgrade from windows 11 pro to home addition? Thank you!

I followed your suggested steps but the same thing still happens when I complete the out of the box experience setup.

By the way, the only reason the device was even in the device list was because (as a troubleshooting step) I tried creating a local account and then connecting to my work account to verify that the windows install was working properly. So I'm not surprised I still got the same result

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
