  1. Reinstalling Windows 10 on a new drive

    Hello!

I have a question about reinstalling Windows 10 on a new drive.

The thing is that I had Windows 7 (Home edition) preinstalled on my computer a few years back and did the upgrade to Windows 10. Since then, I once bought a new drive to reinstall it to it, which of course was no problem back then. Since then I build a new PC and the only "old" hardware in this one are the drive, the GPU and the PSU, all of which weren't originally in the old computer though. I don't really remember what I had to do to reactivate Windows 10 again, but I think there was something about the code, I had to something with it...?

So, can I still use the same Windows 10 version or do I have to buy a new one, because I don't have the mainboard where 7 originally preinstalled anymore, and literally EVERY piece of hardware has been changed since then?

    Thank you for your answers!

    :)

  2. Reinstall Windows 10 to new hard drive

    Hi Rodolpho,

We want to know about the issue you're having with your recovery drive. Please answer the questions below:

    • Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
    • If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

We suggest creating a new copy of the recovery drive and then follow the steps provided by Andre Da Costa above this thread.

Update us with the outcome so we can assist you further.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Reinstalling Windows 10 on a new drive

Reinstalling Windows 10 to sell a PC - is the 'Remove everything' option enough?

Restore factory settings do list Removes your personal files, apps and settings, and reinstalls the version of Windows that came on this PC.

So if this isn't true well than just erase the drive and install a clean Windows 10 with all the drivers u need but why should it be true
