    So, back when the windows 10 upgrade was free, I upgraded a version of windows 7 on my pc to windows 10. Back then I wasn't quite fond of windows 10 so I ended up deleting the partition again. I've been using windows 10 on my laptop for a while now, and quite like it, so now wish to upgrade the version of windows 7 I'm currently using to windows 10.

    I've read online that the installation has a 'product key' (or something similar) linked to the devices hardware. Since then I've added an SSD to my pc, in addition to my 1tb HDD, changed the GPU and changed the Ram, nothing else.


    How should I go about upgrading, so that I don't end up having to buy another windows 10 license once I've upgraded? In the Microsoft account site, under 'Devices' I see a device with windows 10 installed other than my laptop.

    Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

    I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
