Windows 10: Reinstalling Windows 10 on one device from one disc to another with just one slot

Good day.I have question. I want to upgrade my HDD to SSD on old acer notebook but i have just one slot for disc. How to proprerly do it? Just switching discs and use bootable USB stick with instalation or using "settings>recovery>factory reset" and connecting new SSD by USB dock I heard you cant actually install windows on portable device without 3rd party software.All i want is reinstall windows on another disc without loosing product key i lost my sticker with key ThanksDaniel

Disc for windows 7 to run on windows 10

I suggest you to follow the below steps to read the Windows 7 disc and check if it helps.

• Insert Windows 7 disc.
• Press “Windows+E” which will open file explorer.
• There you will find the Windows 7 disc.
• Open the disc and copy the files anywhere on your computer, so that you can access the information from the disc.

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
