I am receiving the following error when trying to reinstall Windows 11 Pro via a USB drive.0xC1900101 - 0x40021 The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operationI've tried to look online and found nothing helpful. I really need to reinstall as windows is acting very funky and crashing repeatedly even when running simple tasks. I am fairly sure it's not my hardware, as I am running a midrange system with 32gb ram, Gigabyte 4080, Ryzen 9 12 core processor, b550-f motherboard.

I'm trying to upgrade my Windows 10 to Windows 11 but I've got a blue screen with this error :
INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP

After that, when I came in Windows 10, the configuration of Windows 11 tell this error :

0xC1900101 - 0x40021 : The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error in the BOOT operator.

(This error occurs when I'm use the ISO file)
(I've already tried Windows 11 Installation Assistant)

I tried installing Windows 11 23H2 from 22H2 using ISO but it fails and rolls back at the end with the error:

Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x40021

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operation

Can't seem to find any documentation regarding this error.

Looking at a previous post with same error (Redirecting), i've saved the following files:

• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\Setupact.log
  
• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\Setupact.log
  
• C:/$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
  
• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\Setupmem.dmp
  

and used "setupdiag /ZipLogs:True" to create the Logs.zip file, but don't know what to search for.

Any help on this?

The hardware and the BIOS versions are old, and i5-2400 is not listed in the CPU compatibility list for Windows 11.

Even if we manage to fix the driver issues that cause the error 0xC1900101- 0x40021, you may not be able to install Windows 11 without bypass methods.
