Windows 10: Reinstalling windows from aa usb bootable drive in a dual booted system.

Windows 10 and ubuntu 20.04 dual booted rig.I am badly stuck here. I had a test for which I had to download the mettl test browser.The pc got hung and I was unable to close the browser. It had all privileges and wouldnot let me shut down the pc or close any background applications. So I did a systemrestore on my pc to a point one week prior.But the restore messed up my windows partition and gave a blue screen of death witherror code of 'CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED'. I tried every option in the Advanced options menu including reset the pc but that gives this errorI am really desperate right now. I as

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!

 

Windows 8x reinstall

Sorry if this has already been suggested. Have you tried using a boot USB drive? You'll need a flash drive bigger than 4GB, the W8.1 ISO and the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool. That would let you bypass the DVD drive.

I've found a handful of USB drives that won't work as boot drives (the tool says that it couldn't make the drive bootable or that the files couldn't be copied) even if the drive worked fine ass a boot drive with Linux Mint or memtest so YMMV.

it might just be that your bios doesn't support it, but it should anyway.

make sure you go into the bios and make sure "boot other device" is enabled and try seeing if the usb is listed as an hdd.. as bootable flash drives are usually picked up as usb hdd's and check if your bios detects the flash drive.
