Windows 10: Reinstalling Windows question

I need to do a fresh install of Windows 10 onto a new SSD, I'm moving it from a 110gb to a 256gb drive.

The issue I have is that my copy of windows is on disc but my current build has no disc drive (this was by design, and I just temporarily rig up the disc drive from an old build to install windows - and I don't want to go this route again if I don't have to). I've been looking into and reading about creating an .iso file to create a windows install file on thumb drive, but then I realized that I don't own a large enough thumb drive to hold the file.



I have two proposed questions....

1: Is it possible to just load the .iso file onto the new SSD and use it as the "thumb drive"

2: is it possible to load the .iso file onto a compact flash drive for a camera and use it as the "thumb drive" to install from?



Thanks for any help you can provide. If all else fails I will just dig out my old PC and rig up the optical drive again... or buy a thumb drive, but I'd rather not go either of these routes if not completely necessary.

Reinstall System Image Question

Reinstall System Image Question –
When saving a system image in Windows 10, it saves it as “Windows Image Backup.” I then add the date to the listing and save it. Therefore, I have a list of backups that read like “Windows Image Backup 9-4-19.”
So, this is my question.
If I need to reinstall my system image, does Windows allow me to choose any of the backups in my list to reinstall?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
