Windows 10: Reinstalling Windows

I am using a Windows 10 reinstallation disk to reinstall windows due to some software errors I had encountered. When I was reinstalling, I reformatted the drive with the previous installation of windows. I was unable to reinstall due to: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk gas an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." I wasn't worried because I had encountered this before. I went to my MOB configuration, then to BOOT options to switch into UEFI mode, but switching to UEFI wasn't listed. I tried to enter into command prompt to switch to UEFI mode through there, but I couldn't because it doesn't exist (I deleted the drive with previous installation of windows)


I am at a complete dead-end and any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.
