Relation between C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu and the More apps list from...

Hi,I just installed Windows 11 and again I fear it will lower my productivity.I used to Win 7 / Xp / 10 arrange my programs into folders on the start menu. This has one big advantage: for lesser used programs if I don't remember the name, I could look it up in the appropriate folder. Let's say I knew it was an app for drawing I could go: Start > Drawing > and find a short list of apps concerning drawing.I arranged all of this in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder. Now with Win11 I try the same. It works kinda, but: - folder with only one item or not shown

    :)

    Customize Start Menu App List

    Greetings,

I've already tried asking this in Microsoft Answers.

I have created an "Adobe" folder (below) in the Start Menu app list, to put Adobe apps in:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Adobe

I have moved Acrobat Reader and Photoshop Elements into the app list's Adobe folder, but I when I right-click "Notification Manager for Acrobat Reader", there is no "Open file location" option. I've tried manually moving it, but the app isn't in any of these folders:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

How can I move the app shortcut?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

Unable to add to All apps list in Start Menu

K, create shortcuts to the actual folders then.

Unable to add to All apps list in Start Menu

    You can create folders in:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    or:

    C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

but they have to have shortcuts in them, otherwise they won't show in the All apps menu.
