Windows 10: Relation between ToastNotificationMode and Do Not Disturb settings on Windows 11

The ToastNotificationMode in Windows.UI.Notifications has 3 values: Unrestricted, PriorityOnly and AlarmsOnly, and it apparently works only on Windows 11However in Windows 11, there does not seem to be a way to directly modify this state using the Settings UI, even under the Do Not Disturb setting.Is ToastNotificationMode the way to programatically query for a user's Do Not Disturb state, and if yes, how does one change the state from unrestricted to PriorityOnly or AlarmsOnly directly using the Do Not Disturb setting UI?

Multiple Do Not Disturb rules on Windows 11

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There is no native setting, method or even a known registry hack to add more than one do not disturb rule in Windows, there is only that one option.

The best option may be to open the Feedback Hub (Windows Key + F) and suggest to the Widows developers they add more options in Windows 11 for this function.

 

How do I fix notifications still coming in even though Do Not Disturb is enabled?

If you are having problems with notification sounds, please do the following:

Step 1: Right-click on the Start icon and select Settings from the list.

Step 2: On the System tab, click on Notifications.

Step 3: Under "Notifications from apps and other senders", you will see a list of apps. Click on the app you want to disable notification sounds for.

Step 4: Disable the option "Play a sound when a notification arrives". You can also prevent the app from showing notification banners from this menu.

You can repeat the steps above to disable notification sounds for other apps.

Try turning on Do Not Disturb this way, however, all alerts will continue to appear in the Notification Center.

To automatically control Do Not Disturb, follow these steps:

Open Settings.

Click System.

Click on the Notifications tab.

Turn on the “Do Not Disturb” switch.

Click on the “Turn on Do Not Disturb Automatically” context.

Check the During these times option.

Set the on and off time to silence notifications.

Automatic Do Not Disturb

Choose repeat setting.

After completing the steps, Do Not Disturb will automatically turn on and off depending on your configuration.

In addition to setting up a schedule, you can also decide whether you want to stop notification banners at certain times.

I would suggest you try resetting the settings for Do Not Disturb.

1. go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

2. Tap on "Reset" and confirm the action.

This will reset all Do Not Disturb settings to their default values, and may help to resolve any issues with the feature automatically turning back on.
