Relationship between "resolving host" issue with Chrome and pending Microsoft Windows update.

I have periodic issues with the dreaded "resolving host" issue on Chrome. I finally realized this morning that it's always associated with a pending update from Microsoft. Is this just my imagination?

I had a terrible time again this morning, did all the "fixes" to "repair" the resolving host as recommended I am not a computer wiz and per usual these had not effect. Remembering all of the other times I've experienced this I went into the Windows update settings and saw that there was an update pending. So I downloaded it, installed it and restarted my computer for the 4th time today and now the resolving host issue has gone away.

2 or 3 times might be coincidence but now 7- 10 times can't be, can it?

    :)

    Resolving Host - Chrome + Windows 10

    My experience :

Chrome + Windows 10 = endlessly resolving host.

Firefox + Windows 10 = zero resolving host issues.

I guess I wills stick with Firefox, but it would be nice to get Chrome working properly with W10. I have tried just about every suggestion that I have found on the web, but no luck. Anyone want to offer an idea.

    Thx.

    It's just your imagination.

The "host" is the server that has the website you are trying to see. The message means that the internet is having difficulty finding the host. This doesn't have anything to do with Windows. Either the host is having a problem or the internet is having a
problem, and there's nothing that you or Microsoft can do about that.

Sometimes the problem originates with you, however unwittingly. For example, if you're using a bookmark that has an old URL for the website you want to see, the internet has to figure out what you mean and then send you to the correct URL.

In general, when you're having a computer problem, it's not a good practice to try every fix you can think of, hoping that something will work. You will likely waste a lot of time, and by making unnecessary changes to your computer, you may cause problems
for yourself in the future. Instead, the best thing to do is to try to understand what's causing your problem in the first place. Then you'll know how to address it.
