Windows 10: Reliability Monitor keeps saying Windows was not shut down properly.

Title says it all. I've been having this trouble for a while now. My laptop has been booting up slowly for a while now and I have feeling this is the culprit. The only time this did not show up was around 9/5, and my laptop booted up quick during that day. Is there a way to shut down Windows properly? Thanks.

Reliability monitor reports computer shut down improperly every day even though it's apparently fine

Just seen on Reliability Monitor that I have a critical event every day when I use 'Shut Down'. The PC shuts down properly with no errors, and boots into Windows with no errors, but Reliability Monitor says "Critical event: Windows was not shut down properly."

What's going on?

If you don't find any error with Cortana, and the issue is only with reliability monitor projecting an error with Cortana. I would then request you to perform DISM and check if the issue is removed.

  Press Windows key, and type CMD in search. Right click on CMD and click on Run as administrator.

    In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    
• 
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  
• 
  Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
  
  
  

Please revert if you face any issues with reliability monitor.

 

Windows was not properly shut down

My PC seems to crash randomly and restart every 10-20 mins after starting up.

On reliability monitor I constantly have the summary message "Windows was not properly shut down". In Description it states "The previous system shutdown at X on ‎X was unexpected."

I have an Event Log, but do not know how to share this to get to the source of the problem. Any suggestion would be welcome.
