  1. Remap a key to be "functionless"

I'd like to remap my function keys (F1-F12, not fn) to be "functionless". What I mean by that is, I'd like them to be buttons that other apps will pick up, but that don't perform any action in Windows by default. Ideally I could then map them to anything I'd like in individual programs like various games or Discord, and use them repeatedly for individual purposes. One or two will be used for muting purposes, which will need to be essentially universal (ie: I can use them on the desktop, chrome, any windows app and they won't trigger actions I haven't specified).

Does this seem possible? I know there are keyboards made with buttons like this, but I'd rather not make a purchase if it can be accomplished with buttons I already don't use. Thank you for any help!

Any suggestion how to remap keyboard [Enter] > [Shift-Enter]?

I've used SharpKeys successfully to remap keys.
    - I remapped Delete key to the Insert key when the former was defective
    - On another computer, I remapped t to ` [again because a key was not working correctly]
You would remap Shift-Enter to Enter

You can select keys from the list or, as illustrated here, you can select Type key and press the key / key combination you want.

But you do realise that you'll lose the ability to press Enter?
    - You don't say why you want to do this so I can only guess that the 'normal' Enter function would sometimes be needed.
    - You could also remap Enter to Shift-Enter so you would still have the function available for use.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

  4. Remap a key to be "functionless"

    External keyboard keys remapped

Hi, some keys on my external keyboard that I use with my laptop have been remapped.

They have been remapped like this:

    2 remapped to Insert

    3 remapped to Home

    4 remapped to 'W'

    5 remapped to Delete

I tried the laptop's inbuilt keyboard and there are no issues whatsoever. I don't know if it is a software or hardware issue.
