REMOTE CONTROL ACCESS USING CHROME WEB BROWSER.

    Hello,

Let's say that someone creates a web site.

They create and upload an app to that web site.

That app can instruct a computer to turn on remote control.

You visit their web site and upon your arrival there, that app's self executable file opens and acts as an add on (plug in or extension) in your Chrome web browser without you knowing about it.

Using your Chrome web browser, it has limited access to your computer but it sees that you had left the "Allow Remote Control" box unchecked. So it checks that box to turn "Allow Remote Control" back on, thereby allowing them access to your files, folders, and your drives, etc.

If the above is somehow true (I have no idea), is it safer, therefore, to use a different web browser like Edge or FireFox? or can they be compromised too?

    Thanks in Advance.

All web browsers are blocked when I log into Windows via Remote Desktop

I have a new Windows Surface Pro 3 that I just upgraded to Win 10.

My issue is that, when I use Remote Desktop to connect to it from my Mac (using the official Microsoft Remote Desktop app), I can not longer browse the web in either Edge or Chrome. As soon as I disconnect, Edge and Chrome work again.

    Here's what I do:

    • test that browser works on Surface, which it does
    • connect to Surface from Mac via Microsoft Remote Desktop (connection works fine)
    • test browser again in Remote Desktop session. All web browsing fails in both Chrome and Edge
    • disconnect Remote Desktop session
    • test that browser works on Surface, which it does again
Even though browsing the web is broken in the Remote Desktop session, I can still ping Internet servers (e.g. 8.8.8.8)

The Surface and my Mac are sitting right next to each other and are connected via cables to a hardwired network which works.

    Web browsers

Thats not a lot of options. I would only suggest Internet Explorer or Opera. If you are looking for simplicity then IE I guess, but Opera seems like they are making their browser look more like Chrome or the new Firefox.

REMOTE CONTROL ACCESS USING CHROME WEB BROWSER.

Google Plans a Web-browser, To be called Google Chrome

Google plans to launch its very own web-browser software in competition to Microsoft Internet Explorer called Google Chrome. The new browser according to entries at the official Google blog suggest the driving force behind the browser is to provide value-added features to its users, at the same time, help drive innovation on the web. It is claimed that the browser is tailored to give the most out of common tasks on the internet as a web-browser has become a very significant component of the connected PC.

The browser designed to be streamlined and simple for you to accomplish tasks quickly and easily by offering enhanced address-bar features and other elements that are very different from those on other browsers. The product will be open-source. Says the blog post "To most people, it isn't the browser that matters. It's only a tool to run the important stuff -- the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go."

Google released a comic book explaining its design approach towards the web-browser, it can be read here. Under the hood, Google claims the browser to have what it takes to run complex web-applications any by keeping each browser tab in its "sandbox", the probability of a web-application crash on one tab affecting other tabs is eradicated. A beta version of this browser software would be released in over 100 countries tomorrow, September the 2nd.
