  1. Remote Desktop Connection - Local Resources Greyed Out

Hi,I've been using Remote Desktop Connection for work, for over 6 months now and was using my webcam and its mic while using my remote desktop. To do this I activated using them through the Local Resources option in the settings for the RDC.However, as of a week ago my IT had to troubleshoot a connection issue with the RDC and now the Local Resources settings are greyed out so I cannot use my webcam or its mic. The IT group said they did nothing to change this and its not possible to use my local resources in the RDC even though up until that afternoon it was working fine.Best Regards,

    :)

  2. Remote Desktop - Accessing Local Resources

I would like to make local devices connected to my laptop (i.e. HP scanner) accessible in my Remote Desktop Connection. I am running WIN10 Pro. I cannot locate the Remote Desktop Connections dialogue box that would allow me to specify which Local Resources
    I want to configure/access.

Perhaps it is because the laptop is managed by a remote Administrator that I cannot see/find this dialogue box. Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers, Dave M.

    Remote Desktop Connection problems

Have you tried Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from your Windows 10 laptop to your Windows 7 desktop? Try it first, post back and tell how it went.

Some additional help because you mentioned you are a remote newbie *Wink. The windows 7 related tutorials from our sister site the Seven Forums:

    1. On Windows 7 desktop, set network location to either Home or Work (I recommend Work):
    2. On Windows 7 desktop, allow incoming remote connections:
    3. On Windows 7 desktop, find out its IP address:
    4. On Windows 10 laptop, start the Remote Desktop application and connect to the Windows 7 desktop using the IP address from step 3 above (see Part Three in the tutorial):
Try the above, post back how it went.
