Windows 10: Remote Desktop does not attempt to reconnect after PC has been sleeping

I have a mildly annoying issue with Remote Desktop. After waking my computer from sleep, I click on the Remote Desktop tab, and I just get the message displayed below. It does not attempt to reconnect. I have to manually close it and connect again.Seems like a bug to me that it doesn't reconnect?

Remote Desktop - Remote Computer is Sleeping

Got a question that I could answer if I was at the office to try it... Trying to connect remotely to an HP desktop at work.

If the HP is in sleep mode, I can't remote into it. Here's the scenario: Couldn't remote into the HP... Called a co-worker he noticed is was in power saving mode & moved the mouse, it woke up. Then I was able to remote in.

Would "Wake on Lan" in BIOS allow me to wake up the computer through a remote desktop login request? Are there other settings?

Configure the number of attempts to re-connect the remote computer via Remote Desktop

Hi,

I found that if the remote computer is disconnected, the client only has 20 attempts to try to reconnect the server computer. And if no connection is made before that, Remote Desktop will stop running and won't take any further actions.

The question is can we configure this number of attempts for Remote Desktop so that it can keep trying to reconnect to the server computer till the connection is successfully made?

I really appreciate if you have answer this question as this is crucial for our remote system. I look forward for your reply.

1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?
   

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.



If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

link and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.



However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
TechNet forum.
