Windows 10: Remote Desktop for Mac now Windows App v11 -- Shift and Alt Keys don't work. But They...

Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1Windows App replaced Remote Desktop 11.0.5Problem: When connecting to a Windows PC which is running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 10.0.17763,the shift keys and Alt keys do not work normally. Alt keys cannot access application menus unless there is a pause between pushing them and the paired keyboard key. Example: Alt-F-S is normally one smooth movement. But I have to press Alt and wait for the commands to be highlighted and they proceed with the remainder of the command sequence. Otherwise I get a cursive f appearing at the cursor: ƒI br

Shift, CRTL keys no working with Modern Remote Desktop

I was not having this problem at all until the Windows 10 Anniversary Update self-installed on my system. Now I am having similar issues to many above posters with some strange variations:

• Shift and Ctrl keys don't work with the RD client window maximized, Alt key does work (- Shift, - Ctrl, + Alt)
• Shift and Ctrl keys do work when the RD client window isn't maximized, but now the Alt key doesn't work (+ Shift, + Ctrl, - Alt)
• Most bizarrely, if the window isn't maximized, but I drag the side window edges to make the window as wide as possible, it starts to behave as if the window were maximized (- Shift, - Ctrl, +Alt) when both window side edges get close to the side screen
  edges. The same does not happen, however, when I drag the top and bottom window edges up and down, respectively, to make the window as tall as possible.
• In full-screen mode (this is different than a maximized window in that the RD Client title bar and your local desktop's taskbar are hidden, making it appear as though the remote desktop is your local desktop) the Shift, Ctrl, and Alt keys behave the same
  as when the window is maximized (- Shift, - Ctrl, + Alt)
• Holding both shift keys down at once did not work for me in the maximized window, as one previous poster had reported.

I am going to repost this info in a new thread to see if it gets any attention since this thread was marked as answered long ago, so I'm sure no Microsoft people would check it anymore. It is still pretty ridiculous that this issue has persisted so long,
however, since the Anniversary Update began rolling out months ago.

RD Client app broken since Windows 10 Anniversary Update: Shift, Ctrl, and Alt keys not working

I was using the Windows RD Client (App Store version) with Windows 10 uneventfully with perfect functionality right up until the Anniversary Update automatically installed on my machine about a week ago. Now, the Shift, Ctrl, and Alt keys do not work properly
anymore within the remote desktop window. The keys all work fine on my local machine/desktop so it's not a hardware issue.

Here are the detailed behaviors of the various meta keys:

• The Shift and Ctrl keys don't work with the RD client window maximized, but the Alt key does work (- Shift, - Ctrl, + Alt)

• In full-screen mode the Shift, Ctrl, and Alt keys behave the same as when the window is maximized (- Shift, - Ctrl, + Alt)
• The Shift and Ctrl keys do work when the RD client window isn't maximized, but the Alt key doesn't work (+ Shift, + Ctrl, - Alt)

I need to use the RD Client almost daily for work so this is extremely annoying and affects productivity. I see that I am not the first to report this issue. Is this issue being looked into for a permanent fix rather than the poor workaround solution of
having to alternate maximizing and restoring the window depending on which meta key I need to use? Is uninstalling the Anniversary Update an option, or will it just keep being reinstalled?
