Windows 10: Remote Desktop is no longer working when I reset my Laptop

I have my laptop since 2021 Razer Blade 15, and I've been using this for more almost 3 years now. I did reset this once from the time I bought it and install all my softwares at this moment, I am not aware what windows was installed on my laptop. I've been using this as my work from home setup by means of remote desktop as 80% of my of my work is work from home. 3 months ago from now I reset it again as I have a new job as I want a fresh new start. And now, I can't set up my Remote Desktop, for the reason that I have Windows 11 Home Edition??? T

Remote Desktop Connection problems


Have you tried Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from your Windows 10 laptop to your Windows 7 desktop? Try it first, post back and tell how it went.

Some additional help because you mentioned you are a remote newbie *Wink. The windows 7 related tutorials from our sister site the Seven Forums:

1. On Windows 7 desktop, set network location to either Home or Work (I recommend Work):
   • Network Location - Set as Home, Work, or Public Network - Windows 7 Help Forums
2. On Windows 7 desktop, allow incoming remote connections:
   • Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) - Network - Windows 7 Help Forums
3. On Windows 7 desktop, find out its IP address:
   • IP Address - Locate and Find for Your Computer - Windows 7 Help Forums
4. On Windows 10 laptop, start the Remote Desktop application and connect to the Windows 7 desktop using the IP address from step 3 above (see Part Three in the tutorial):
   • RDC - Connect Remotely to your Windows 10 PC - Windows 10 Forums
   • Notice that although the tutorial is written for Windows 10, it also applies to Windows 7

Try the above, post back how it went.

1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?
   

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.



If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

link and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.



However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
TechNet forum.

Streaming/Remote desktop

Hey!
I was wondering - is it possible to play games on my laptop through my desktop? Sometimes I really want to enjoy the power of a desktop, with the comfort of a laptop. In the same or just next to the room from where the desktop is located. Both machines would be connected with a D-Link DIR 825(300Mb/s), the laptop is capable enough (i3 & 740M). The only thing that came in my mind is using remote desktop, which would be almost OK, except it renders the PC useless for other users.

Any suggestions? *Smile
