Windows 10: REMOTE DESKTOP KEYBOARD NOT WORKING ON IPHONE

I've been using remote desktop on my iPhone 13 Pro Max for a while now. As of recently, the keyboard will no longer pop up on screen for me. The keyboard comes up initially for me to enter my credentials to log onto the Windows account, but once I'm in the remote desktop and using apps, the keyboard will not pop up. There's the button at the top of the screen to select the keyboard, it does select but then the keyboard doesn't pop up. I've tried looking into settings for both the R/D client and keyboard settings, but I don't see anything to change. Please help :

I was searching for a suitable remote desktop app on iphone to control my pc and found that using the Microsoft remote desktop app is the fastest and that's the best in my personal opinion, it's speedy; however, it does not enable me to use my mouse and
keyboard on my tiny new pc-iphone "screen." Do you community, know how to enable the use of my keyboard and mouse?
