Windows 10: Remote Desktop service will not start error 126

after finding out that RDS was not running and was the issue I found some forms and comunity posts that suggested to system file scan and restore I've had no luck and have no clue what to doThis is the last thing I've triedCheck system files:-Right click on start, run PowerShelladmin or Command PromptadminCopy and paste the following commandISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealthand press Enter.Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.After you see a message saying "The operation completed successfully", copy and paste this command:sfc /sca

Remote Desktop Service is not working - Error 126

Good afternoon,

Remote Desktop on Windows 10 Pro it's not working anymore.

After reviewing the problem I have detected that the "Remote Desktop Services" service is off. If I try to start it, I get the following error:

"Windows could not start the Remote Desktop Services Service on Local Computer - Error 126: Specified module could not be found ".

Could someone help me?

Can't turn on remote desktop service

I have a windows 10 pro and when I turn on Remote Desktop Service from the settings it says it's On but the service isn't started and the port isn't listening, even though when I try to start the service manually it says Error 126: Specified module not found, windows is updated to the latest version

 

Cannot start Remote Desktop Service

I have a new Windows 11 PC and I am not able to start Remote Desktop Service. Based on other threads, I think BitDefender altered the registry for TermService.

I have another Windows 11 machine where it starts fine. I exported the registry for term service and imported it on the problem machine. Rebooted the PC and tried to start Remote Desktop Service. I still get Error 1053.

Any suggestions?
