    Hello all,
    I hope everyone is doing good today, and thank you for helping me out. I am having this unusual problem that is over my head. Whenever I directly connect my Wireless Internet USB Dongle to my laptop, the internet never connects with a yellow exclamation mark showing on Windows LAN icon in the taskbar.
    However, when I turn on Wi-Fi from the same or any similar internet devices I have, I have no connectivity issues then. On top of this, it is only happening in Windows 10 64-bit Version 1703 but not on any other version of Windows 10 as well as the previous Windows. I tried the built-in troubleshooter, uninstalled/reinstalled Network/LAN drivers (both from Windows update & Lenovo website) but to no avail.
    So, I really cannot understand what is this problem and why it is happening on a laptop that is clearly said to have been built for Windows 10? Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Huawei E3531 dongle not working on Windows 10

    Also had to roll back a Windows 10 1709 roll-out because all of our Huawei hi-link USB dongles stopped working. The fix manually setting the IP address is not acceptable as users don't have admin rights and the users with dongles are remote.

    Symptom is the virtual ethernet adapter doesn't get an IP address from the DHCP server in the hi-link dongle. It gets a 169.254.x.y address and an auto ipv6 address instead.

    The dongle is not using a vendor driver - it is using the driver "Remote NDIS based internet sharing device" supplied by Microsoft (Version 10.0.16299.15) ndismp6.sys and usb80236.sys

    Microsoft - please fix......

    Could anyone suggest me how to get NDIS drivers for windows 10. I am using Gateway laptop with 64 bit. I want to share my laptop internet with Android mobile with USB. So, any suggestion are accepted.

    To be clear you connect to your laptop via wifi and the laptop has a cable connection to the internet and is running a dhcp server? open a cmd prompt type ipconfig /all post results
