    Hi I made a big co.. up and haven't realised I had encrypted files. I had 2 discs: a with Windows b with Documents. I purchased new disc, installed new Windows and formatted old disc a.

    Now I want to copy all documents, photos from my b disc to new and I cannot as it says it's encrypted. I tried to remove inheritance which allowed me to remove old user to be able to remove encryption, I changed ownership of the file to various: Administrators, myself, Autheticated Users - nothing works.


    Please help.

    Windows XP file encryption

    My suggestion to you is to look into what kind of encryption the program used, and look for a way to break that type of encryption. Sorry I can't say a specific program for sure.
