Windows 10: remove-AppxProvisionedPackage Unspecified Error

Does anyone know how to fix these errors?





This happens for any provisioned package I attempt to remove (as listed by Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -online).

unable to install kb3081704 - windows 10 x64 build 10240

I tried following instructions for reinstalling the windows 10 DVD player, but the same unspecified error keeps occurring.

I also tried doing a system restore back to before the last successful update.

 

Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081704) - Error 0x80070643

I get an error (I'm using the X86 package as I am on a 32-bit system):

Actually, Option Three of that tutorial was my introduction to Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage.

 

In your screenshot, you have an error in the command. You shouldn't have the gray -package included in the command.

Instead, it should be this below substituting the part in red with the Finance app name instead.

remove-AppxProvisionedPackage PackageFullName

 

Get-Help indicates that PackageName is not a positional parameter (that would be [-PackageName] <String>). It can be piped though. Actually, this cmdlet has no positional parameters.

 

Very odd. Structured this way, the command works:

Code: PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like "*BingFinance*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online Path : Online : True RestartNeeded : False[/quote]

 

Interesting. I'll have to do some more testing.
