Windows 10: Remove Dates on Tracked Changes or Comments for Macbook But Keep the Author Names

I see lots of people ask this question, and none of the solutions I saw throughout the forum here solved the answer for me. However, as a layperson, I found a workaround I could do in about 5 minutes after some practice. Is it okay to post advice on such a question? I see these questions pop up first on Google search, but I couldn't reply to any of the questions because the threads were closed. I use a Macbook Air, so the steps were annoying, but they worked. First, I actually removed all the private information from the document. However, I'd duplicate the document first just as a safety net.

Changing something in the Windows Comments / Tracking Changes area

I want to change from showing a person's name to showing "Author" when a comment is typed. How do I do that? Thanks!

 

Remove Word .doc Authors

Thank you for your effort. But I tried the solution from Ravi Shankar--but it doesn't work as the author list still exists. To see the author names I just type a letter of the alphabet into the control. The method from Shankar just removes the current name from view--but not from the list. And there are no entries in my contact list--so I'm not sure where the Authors are stored. BTW: The problem exists with both .doc and .docx files.

 

Track Changes/Comments

I am an editor and I use both track changes and comments a lot in my work. I just upgraded to the latest version of Office and the track changes works fine, but adding comments is awful. The program is slow, glitch-ridden and hesitant. This is only in comments.
When I open the document, I can go to my last point of interaction quickly either by scrolling or using the bookmark feature - but the comments take up to five minutes to catch up. When I enter a comment, the text lags behind my typing significantly and frequently
skips letters and capitalization. I type well over sixty words per minute and the main program has no problem keeping up, but the comments take considerably longer and are error ridden in ways that have no relationship to what I actually typed.

The questions: Is there any way to fix this issue? Are other people having this problem?
