Windows 10: Remove News and Interests

I want to remove ALL news and interests from the Windows 11 weather widget. I don't want to see any of it. Absolutely nothing. I do not care. I spent a long time blocking everything just for it to not save my selections. All I want is the temperature to show.

With the next release of Windows 10, Microsoft is testing News and Interests on the taskbar. With News and Interests, you get a quick glance of dynamic content throughout the day. Disable News and Interests on Windows 10

To enable or Disable News and Interests in the taskbar, see the steps below:

1. Right-click the Taskbar on the desktop.
   
2. Click News and Interests.
   
3. Select Turn off from the list of options.
   
4. If you want an icon only related to weather, select show Icon only.
   

These steps can help you disable News and Interests on the taskbar.

 

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

News and Interests?

To turn off "News and interests"

1. Right-click on taskbar
2. Select News and interests
3. Make sure Turn off is checked

A few months ago another annoying thing was added to Windows called "Search highlights"




To turn off "Search highlights"

1. Right-click on taskbar
2. Select Search
3. Make sure Show search highlights is unchecked
