Hi, at some point I had two different Microsoft accounts with the SAME email address: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***- A "personal" live.com account- A "work or school" account via my Office365 subscription where i added *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and other users under the "business" www.ebitdacatalyst.com accountI then set up a new laptop Windows 10, upgraded since to Windows 11 with this email address as the primary, administrator, only user email address, thinking I was using my "business" email on what was to be a work laptop. It turns out it was my PERSONAL version of the same email that

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. How can I edit the Administrator File

Would you be so kind as to elaborate? Did you get an error message or what?

I just did it myself and had no problem. I added an account alias (a gmail.com address rather than a hotmail.com address) and changed it to primary and then could remove the Hotmail.com address.
