Windows 10: Remove the folder icon

Discus and support Remove the folder icon in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I'd like to have the photo show instead of the folder icon.     Remove the folder icon


    I'd like to have the photo show instead of the folder icon. I've tried every option in the Properties and Show More Options sections but nothing removes the folder. Thanks!

    Removing desktop icons

    the icons are located in 'all users' folder somewhere (for example, i see a few shared icons in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" )

    The only way to fix those, is to remove the icons from there, and place them on to each users desktops manually. an admin may need to do this.

    Removing Icons

    Hi,

    Sorry. I should have said that I am using Gnome. My post related to the method for removing all desktop icons. The right click and move to trash method works for any added icons but it doesn't work for the Trash and Home folder icons which are installed as standard. (If you right click on them, you don't get a remover to trash option.)

    How to make a Uber Hidden Folder

    • Make a new folder.
    • Change the icon to a blank icon. No icon should appear
    • Rename the folder to a blank by pressing "alt + 255." (NOTE: Press 255 on the numpad) No text should appear.
    • Your done! It is uber hidden. *Big Grin Remove the folder icon :D
