Windows 10: Remove the TrustedInstaller or Authenticated Users or System users fro

Hi

I have Windows 10 v1511 Enterprise 64 bit.

From the Command Prompt, run as administrator, how should I do to remove any TrustedInstaller or Authenticated Users or System users from the ACLs of an entire directory structure also contains files and links (this must not involve the ACLs of their destination)?

Cortana Again Causing Terabytes Network Activity

I tried the Reddit hack of a year ago and got stuck here:

Edit the rights for Administrators to allow Full Control (This is what I believe I have allowed.)

Remove the user TrustedInstaller. Remove the user "All Application Packages". And edit the rights for System to DENY ALL.

I was not able to Remove the user TrustedInstaller. Remove the user "All Application Packages". And edit the rights for System to DENY ALL.

 

7-10 Multiple Error _ No taskmgr,cmd,regedit and access is denied

I manage to get it working-ish.... most stuff works now... I took the ownership and got permission for authentication users, administrators, users, trustedinstaller for the C drive...... but now, got a new problem, so far I see only store app and photo
app not working.... so that is manageable. thanks for the support! cheers

 

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by "this must not involve the ACL's of their destination". Is this some kind of school coursework?

 

I would remove the users mentioned above from the ACLs of the link and not from their target file.

I think I found the best solution to remove a directory structure which also contains symbolic links and with ACLs managed by TrustedInstaller or Authenticated Users or System users:

TrustedInstaller is the built-in user account which Windows uses to install updates and Windows App so removing this will prevent you from installing Windows Store apps or having previously installed ones updated.
