Windows 10: Remove unwanted unknown account.

I have a Unknown account associated with my files that I attempted to remove following CoPilot instructions. I seemed to work but the account always returns and interferes with file association to user accounts. It is a long string of letters and number that was created by Microsoft sometime in the past.I would like to have this dealt with permanently. How can this be accomplished?Regards, Gregory

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Unknown account removal

In a 'permissions' dialog an attempt to remove an UNKNOWN ACCOUNT prompts that inheritance first must be disabled. Two options are offered...

1) Convert inherited permissions to explicit permissions on this object
2) Remove all inherited permissions from the object

Which should be chosen, and will other accounts be affected? Or, would it be prudent to ignore the unknown account?

This is an "Sxxx" account and does not appear in the USERS account list, nor with other normal registry accounts.

1 What is the name of the unknown, unwanted user account?

2 Does the unknown, unwanted user account show up in the list produced in response to the [Command prompt] command net user
- If there are any unknown entries in the response, post the list so they can all be explained or identified as suspect

3 Is your proper account [your "name"] a local account or is it an MSAccount? {If it is an MSAccount do not attempt to change it using the HirensBootCD mentioned above}.
