Windows 10: Remove Windows Lockscreen Password Sign-in

hello, I just want to ask on how can I remove the lock screen sign in when my pc wakes from sleep. I had no choice but to make one because windows requires me to create the time I reinstalled windows, but now I cannot remove it. This one probably came from the update to require sign in because before I updated this one or the first time I had my laptop, there was no sign in whatsoever. now, I don't want to uninstall updates though I would like to find another ways to remove the sign-in feature because the laptop I am using is a family computer and as much as possible I don't want any complications for them using this.

I searched in youtube on how to remove it. I found a solution that I thought would solve my problem, but the next boot, when my pc wakes from sleep, it required signing in. I deleted the windows defender with the policy manager at the registry editor before and adjusted the settings in sign in options to "Never" it was greyed out unable to toggle require sign in when pc wakes from sleep and the problem still persists. the require sign-in toggle buttons was greyed out again and says it is Security Policies that is preventing me from changing the setting. I would suggest though I don't know how to disable a setting in Local Security Policy, that might be the solution though I don't know which one I will disable. or maybe in the Local Group Policy Editor. hoping someone would help, thank you in advance!

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Correct. I switched to a local account with no password.

The only other thing I can suggest is, create a photo screensaver with your desired image, then turn off screensaver settings. Then, navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\PhotoScreensaver.scr" and create a shortcut to the 'PhotoScreensaver.scr' file and pin it to your taskbar or quick launch and click it to engage:





EDIT: Mind you, it won't be the Lock Screen with the date and time on it though! *Wink

 

Lockscreen without password

Thank you again Edwin, I've tried what you suggested. But the only thing that happens is that the display turns off. The lockscreen isn't affected at all. I can lock the computer on demand with Win+L key if I want, but the issue remains: Windows asks me for the password.

Smartphones with Android, that are more at risk of theft or security issues allow you to disable password if you want to. But this is a home computer. I begin to think Microsoft took the definition of "lockscreen" in the strongest way.

EDIT: I do not have a "Sign in" button. I have a text field for password insertion. Maybe you do not have set up a password at all?
