  2. remove windows.old

I am sick of this windows.old folder telling me that i need system permissions to work on it. Why is it that the person who compiled the program was operating with system permissions in the first place.

There is none on the ****-in-nine fixes that i have attempted in the last threre months that has even come close to removing windows.old simply because i do not have system permissions and will you people find a god person to eliminate the directory
and fire the **** oriface that placed system permissions on the folder in the first place.

Windows.old is consuming 450 meg of disk space and i want it back. I do not want to talk to a phillipino or some person in south america i simply want the windows.old stuff gone... And if i have the problem then there must be thousands of others people
with the same issue....come on microshaft fix it!

  7. Simple really,

Step 1, open windows explorer and right click on c:\ drive
    Step 2, go to properties
Step 3, click on disk cleanup
Step 4, let it do its thing for a minute then click on "Clean up system files" and make sure previous windows installations is checked.
Step 5, click "OK" and "Delete files"

  9. It sounds like you don't have elevated privileges or ownership of the file....

Well I restarted my computer, it is no faster. It still takes over 10 seconds for this stupid machine to completely shut off and restart.

I realized why it takes me so long to restart my computer. I am dual booting Windows 10 with Linux Mint 17.1 and I have to go through a GRUB screen to choose which OS to boot into.

I don't think that the goal of this is to clean up space and not improve boot or shutdown speed.

Maybe your right. But I really wanted to get rid of those old files anyway and I figured it my speed up my restart time. I restart my computer everyday, it is just a habit.
