Windows 10: Remove Windows Update red message

is there a way to take off the red message that says some settings are managed by your organization

On Update Screen there is a message that 'some settings are managed by your organization'. How to remove message?

I have apparently set some sort of condition that has now generated a message shown above on my update screen in red.

This laptop is not company owned nor controlled by any organization. How do I change settings to remove this message?

 

After Windows 10 1709 (fall creators) automatic update apps die just after being started

After the 1709 update I encountered two problems on a PC:

- An unknown device ROOT\OODISKIMAGE\0000: no way to have it working

- apps (Settings included!) crash just after being started. This is obviously a blocking problem.

I had to move back to previous version, but now I've the annoying options "Install Windows Updates and Shutdown/Restart" in Power button, and -even more annoying- a message in red characters telling me that there are updates that need reboot etc...

I'd like to know if there is a way to, at least, remove options and red messages. Obviously suggestions on how to fix apps suicidal tendency and having my poor device rising again, will be even more appreciate.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Only by enabling automatic updating again.

 

I have done that thats what the problem is

 

It looks like you have some other group policies set instead since it doesn't look what this tutorial does. Double check using the tutorial below to see what policies you may have enabled.

did the tutorial i had the security check on internet exporer disabled, put that back to not configured reran check for updates on windows update and still there, cant figure it out but thanks for the help dont know whats wrong with it

 

You could try resetting group policy back to default in case you missed one.

If that doesn't help, then this below should. It removes all Windows Update policies not set directly in Group Policy. *Smile

did both reset and checked for updates again and its still there lol i have no idea whats wrong, it doesn't cause any problems just ocd about stuff like that but thanks for your timely suggestions man appreciate it

 

Did you restart the computer afterwards to apply?

 

would that show if i have a group policy that is changed anywhere else do you think?, and i didn't restart

 

Restart the computer to apply, then see if it removes the message. *Smile

I have the red message because i've turned off every privacy settings, background apps etc .... feedback to "never ask" and device data to "basic"

Adjust these settings and reboot and you should be good to go.

It could be that your Telemetry is set to Basic.
